Does FaceHush send my photos or videos to the cloud?
No. FaceHush is secure by design. Your photos and videos never leave your hands. We have no servers that receive your media, and no way to see what you edit.
Why does FaceHush need access to my photo library?
Photo library access is required to import photos and videos for editing and to save your censored exports back to your camera roll. The app only accesses media when you explicitly select it. It does not scan your library in the background.
Face detection missed a face in my photo or video. Why?
Face detection accuracy depends on image quality. Faces smaller than about 100 pixels, heavily occluded, at extreme angles, or in poor lighting may not be detected. The same limits apply to video frames.
What is the face library and how does it work?
The face library lets you save a face with a name so that FaceHush can automatically recognise that person in future photos and pre-apply your default censor style. The face data is a 128-dimension mathematical fingerprint that stays with you. Never uploaded, never seen by us.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
On iPhone, subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → FaceHush → Cancel Subscription. On Android, open the Google Play Store → profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → FaceHush → Cancel. You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
I purchased Pro but the app shows the free tier. What should I do?
Open the Pro screen inside the app and use Restore Purchases (iOS) or the equivalent restore option (Android). On iOS, use the same Apple ID as the purchase. On Android, use the same Google account that bought the subscription.
What is the difference between Standard, High, and Maximum export quality?
Standard (free) exports at up to 720p. High (Pro) exports at up to 1440p. Maximum (Pro) exports at the original photo resolution with near-lossless JPEG compression. Ideal for printing or archiving. For video, Free renders at up to 720p and Pro at up to 1080p.
How do I remove the FaceHush watermark from my exports?
The watermark is removed automatically with a Pro subscription, on both photo and video exports. Upgrade to Pro inside the app under the Settings tab.
Is FaceHush available on Android?
Yes. FaceHush is available on iOS and Android. Use the App Store or Google Play links on our site to download the build for your device.
How do I delete all my data?
Uninstalling FaceHush deletes everything tied to it. Your face library, settings, and export history go with it. Since we hold no copy on our side, uninstalling is enough to remove your data.
How much does FaceHush Pro cost?
Pro is $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year. The yearly plan saves about 16% compared to monthly. Both plans unlock video exports up to 10 minutes in 1080p, batch export, watermark-free exports, and high or maximum quality output.
How many photos can I edit in one batch?
Free users can export up to 3 photos at a time. Pro users can batch up to 50 photos at once with the Export All button.
How long can a video clip be?
On the free tier you can censor and export clips up to 15 seconds at 720p, with a small watermark. Pro raises the limits to 10 minutes at 1080p, with no watermark and no ads.
Which censor styles work on video?
Video supports Blur and Mosaic. Photos support all four styles: Mosaic, Blur, Emoji, and Solid. Either way you can preview the result before exporting; for video that preview is a filmstrip timeline.
Is video processed on-device like photos?
Yes. Faces are detected, tracked, and censored entirely on your phone, and the finished clip is rendered there too. Nothing is uploaded, and it all works offline.
How do I keep one person visible in a video?
Every face FaceHush detects starts out censored, and stays censored as people move through the clip. Tap a person to keep them visible; everyone else stays hidden. Tap them again to censor them back.
Privacy note: We have no access to your photos, videos, or face data. We don't store or transmit them anywhere. To delete your data, uninstall the app. No account deletion request is required.
